HOW TO USE THE VIRTUAL PLATFORM

Virtual meetings are new to most of us, so here are some steps to follow, to help you smoothly adapt to this new and exciting experience for ESCV Virtual Meeting on Covid-19:
Enter the Virtual Conference platform
- Go to the Virtual Conference
- Type in the login credentials you received via email (you must have a valid registration, to get access to the platform)
- Click on “SIGN IN”
Start to explore the virtual venue from outside!
- At the Entrance, clicking on logos and banners will take you to relevant websites of the society, next year’s conference and platinum sponsor.
- All areas marked in yellow are clickable items that will open new websites / features with information for you
- For entering the virtual lobby, click on “ENTER HERE”
Explore the lobby!
- At the Virtual Lobby, clicking on text and display screens will often take you to further information and features
- All areas marked in yellow are showing different details about the virtual meeting or some of them are clickable items that will open new screens with information for you.
- You can enter the halls: Click on “MAIN HALL” or “PARALLEL HALL”
- You can enter the networking lounge for messaging with colleagues or joining an chat discussion: Click on “NETWORKING LOUNGE”
- You can see our sponsors: See the large banner at the centre with all sponsors and the banner at the top left, belonging to our platinum sponsor. Further details about each company can be found in the mobile app, on the meeting website or in the programme e-book which you can download from the website or app.
- You can check the industry symposia: See the two banners at the front showing industry symposia companies and hours for both halls.
- You can visit the ESCV 2021 website: Click on the ESCV 2021 banner on the top right.
Go into the session halls!
- You’ll be welcomed with the meeting banner, ESCV 2021 banner, platinum sponsor’s logo and the banners of industry symposia to be held in these halls (all marked in yellow above).
Visit the networking lounge!
- At the Networking Lounge, clicking on text and display screens will take you to features such as “chat rooms”, “social media accounts of ESCV” or “website of ESCV 2021”.
- All areas marked in yellow are clickable items that will take you to these features.
Explore the scientific programme and join the scientific sessions
Click on the “MAIN HALL” screen in the virtual lobby. After entering the main hall, click in the main screeen marked in yellow.
You will be redirected to the interactive scientific programme.
In there you can:
- Explore all sessions within this hall
- Check how much time left for a specific session from the countdown
- Add the session to your own calendar
- Search for specific session names, titles or presenters
- Click on the speakers’ names to read more about her/him.
Explore and join the industry symposia organized by our sponsoring companies
There are two industry symposia in each hall which are listed within the scientific programme. After entering the hall, click in the main screeen marked in yellow.
You will be redirected to the interactive scientific programme in that hall which includes the industry symposia. Between 12:10 and 14:05 hours; there are Randox and Abbott symposia following each other in the Main Hall, and Roche and Quanterix symposia following each other in the Parallel Hall.
Click :
- Explore the industry symposia with the company name
- Check how much time left for a specific industry symposium from the countdown
- Add the industry symposium to your own calendar
- Search for specific session names, titles or presenters
- Click on the speakers’ names to read more about her/him.
Watch live sessions
1. When it is time for a live session, you will see a button “Join”
a) Click on this button to access the session.
b) Click on “Unmute” to hear speakers’ presentations
- If a session hasn’t started yet, there will be no “Join” button. You will see a countdown showing you how much time there is until this session instead.
- If a session has already finished, you can watch its recording. Click on “Play” to see it.
Send messages and chat with conference participantsClick on the “CHAT” screen in the networking lounge. A new chat window will open.
- There are chatrooms “Public Channels” created for the participants to have networking discussions around certain topics
- Click on "More" marked in yellow to see the chat rooms.
- Click on
the topic you are interested in and join the discussion.
- There are also
public channels created with the names of sponsors. You can join those
channels as well for any queries or information about those companies.
- You can
also create a “Private Channel” with your personal colleagues and friends.
- If you
want to chat with a specific participant only, just go to “Direct
Messages” tab in the Chat and search from the names.
- Click on the name and write your message. It will be delivered to her/him.
Ask for guidance or technical support
Look out for the icon in the lobby – on the right bottom side of the screen (marked in yellow).
Click on it, and a new screen will pop up.
Type in your question and click on the “enter” keyboard button.
Please note: The “Let’s Chat” feature is available during the official scheduled times by CEST (Central European Standard Time Zone) / GMT +2
